At first glance, Delaware County doesn’t seem like a dumpling kind of place, but actually, here are several places to check out if you’re looking for dumplings done right, writes Danielle Fusaro for Main Line Today.

Bamboo Bistro at 333 Dartmouth Ave. in Swarthmore offers eight varieties—crabmeat, pork soup, pan-fried soup, shrimp, pork chive, fried chive, chicken, and fried chicken.

Other dim sum options are curry, pork, and vegetable buns.

Da Shin Bistro at 190 S. New Middletown Road in Media has Hunan, Mandarin, and Szechuan specialties, including pan-fried or steamed chicken, pork, shrimp, and vegetable dumplings.

Tom’s Dim Sum at 13 E. State Street in Media has traditional Shanghai Chinese cuisine. Its best-known Shanghai and Cantonese-style dim sum are the savory soup dumplings, fried buns, shumai and scallion pancakes.  Entrees here are also popular.

Just bordering Delaware County in Ardmore are four more recommended dumpling eateries.

Bam Bam Kitchen at 31 E. Lancaster Ave. is dedicated to authentic Korean cuisine, with a vegetable dumpling salad served with housemade Chojang sauce.

Other options in Ardmore include Golden China at 27 Rittenhouse Place

Golden Bowl at 33 Rittenhouse Place and Pak Yue Chinese Restaurant at 2347 Haverford Road.
