Teacher From Bryn Mawr Appearing on ‘Jeopardy!’ Wednesday

A teacher who works at the Hill Top Preparatory School in Bryn Mawr, Delaware County will be a contestant Wednesday on Jeopardy!, writes Franki Rudesky for Philly Voice.

Lisa Gargiulo will follow Travis Lee, a systems engineer from Phoenixville, who will compete Monday, May 29.

Gargiulo spoke with Patch ahead of her upcoming “Jeopardy!” appearance.

“I can’t think of a time when I haven’t watched ‘Jeopardy!’ every night,” she said.

Gargiulo is the head of the English department at Hill Top Preparatory School, teaching seventh and eighth graders.

She’s taken the “Jeopardy!” qualifying test at least a dozen times and was finally asked to audition. She previously competed on the NPR game show “Ask Me Another”.

“Jeopardy!” host Mavim Bialik complimented her shoes, Gargiulo said.

Bialik and Ken Jennings have been sharing the hosting of “Jeopardy!” this season. Bialik has been giving clues while Jennings emceed the “Jeopardy!” Masters tournament.

Opponents for Gargioulo and Lee have yet to be revealed, but the show now features one-off winners after the defeat of nine-time champion Ben Chan.

He was kicked off Tuesday after winning more than $250,000, due to a Final Jeopardy! msspelling.
