Nick Meehan reunited with his son, Nathan at Drexel Hill Middle School.

Nick Meehan was teaching business at Upper Darby High School when he was summoned abroad.

The Army National Guard soldier was called to be stationed in Kuwait at Camp Buehring for a motor transport operator position, writes Pete Bannan for The Daily Times.

Meehan jetted out Thanksgiving of 2021, leaving behind his family for 10 months. His youngest child, a baby girl named Emerson, was only two months old at the time.

The soldier made his grand return on Friday, unbeknownst to his son Nathan. He’s a student at Drexel Hill Middle School and went about his Friday not knowing that his father who was thousands of miles away for most of the year, was just around the corner.

He caught his son by surprise while he was at lunch, and his son’s reaction was priceless. The father and son shared a deep, heartfelt embrace after 10 months of being separated from one another. Meehan is looking forward to attending his sons’ sporting events and getting to know baby Emerson. His older son, Nicholas, is a student at Upper Darby High School.
