7 of Delaware County’s Towns Are in the Top 50 for Best Places to Live in PA

Delaware County is home to seven of the 50 Best Places to Live in Pennsylvania, according to rankings published by Niche.com.

Niche.com ranked places based on several key factors, including the cost of living, quality of local schools, employment rates, crime statistics, and housing trends, among many others.

Swarthmore, with a population of 6,304 and a median home value of $410,100, placed 5th among the Best Places to Live in Pennsylvania and the 31st Best Place to Live in America.

Upper Providence, with a population of 10,388 and a median home value of $452,900, placed 21st out of 50. Living in Upper Providence Township offers residents a dense suburban feel with lots of restaurants and parks.

Next was Radnor, which placed 26th on the list. It has a population of 31,743 and a median home value of $651,600.

Nether Providence, population 13,754, with a median home value of $341,000, was right behind, at 27th.

Media, with a population of 5,423, came in 40th on the list. It has a median home value of $316,600.

Haverford Township placed 44th. It has a population of 49,162 and a median home value of $327,000.
