Al Fresco: Montco and the Main Line is Filled with Some of the Best Outdoor Dining Spots

Summer is the best time to enjoy an al fresco meal around the Main Line at one of the top-tier outdoor dining eateries in the region, writes Ed Williams for the Main Line Today.

With the weather as nice as it is in our area, everyone is looking to get outside and enjoy the weather, good company, and good food.

Montgomery County is home to The Farmer’s Daughter, Normandy Farm’s historic courtyard oasis in Blue Bell, Byrsa Bistro in Glen Mills, recently opened The Landing Kitchen in Bala Cynwyd, Jasper’s Backyard, a secluded and intimate space in Conshohocken, and Coyote Crossing, a Conshy mainstay.

In Chester County, some of the best options for outdoor dining include Idlewild with a festively lit courtyard located at the dramatically revamped Towne House, Four Dogs Tavern in West Chester that offers pub-style fare on an extensive patio, and East Branch Brewing in Downingtown, featuring breathtaking rooftop views.

There is also The General Warren in Malvern, home to the Spring House Terrace, White Dog Café in Glen Mills, Bistro on Bridge in Phoenixville with a vintage Volkswagen bus as its centerpiece, and The Whip Tavern in Coatesville.

Delaware County boasts Firepoint Grill in Newtown Square with its state-of-the-art covered patio and Tavola Restaurant + Bar in Springfield.
