Springfield High Junior Bianca Brown Already an Entrepreneurial Success

By

It’s never too early to have your own brand of personal care products, writes Matteo Iadonisi for 6abc.com.

Springfield High junior Bianca Brown figured that out.

“It is really just like a far-fetched idea to be, like, an entrepreneur at 16,” said Brown. “But I think you have to believe that you can do it yourself.”

Bianca started making unique soaps, body butters, and jewelry during time off in the pandemic.

The business came soon after. She started selling personal care products under the SimplyB name to friends and family.

She took to TikTok and soon was reaching thousands nationwide.

“I literally woke up to 50 orders the next day,” she said after her first video went viral.

In her spare time, Bianca is treasurer of the student council, plays varsity volleyball, runs track and field, and she’s started a Black student union. She’s in the community service club, part of the National Honor Society, and is in the W.E.B. DuBois Honor Society.

“I really want to show other kids how to be young entrepreneurs, do like, the do’s and don’ts, things that I’ve learned throughout it, and have that feeling that someone would be inspired by me,” she said.
