Wawa opened its third new store in Delaware County Friday at 2608 Chichester Ave. in Boothwyn, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Daily Times.

The new store is actually relocated from its former location at 2300 Chichester Avenue.

First responders, local officials and charity partners participated in the ribbon-cutting.

Other Delaware County stores that opened in 2021 were in Ridley Township and Upper Darby.

Wawa has been investing in existing markets and opening stores in new markets as it continues a growth spurt.

The grand opening included the “Hoagies for Heroes” hoagie-building competition between Upper Chichester Police Department and Upper Chichester Fire Co. and EMS.  Both teams competed to see who could build the most hoagies in three minutes.

Checks were presented on behalf of the winning and runner-up teams, for $1,000 to the charities of their choice. Charities that benefited were Delaware County Law Enforcement and the Delaware County Firefighter and EMS Memorial.

Wawa has been focusing on customer convenience as part of its growth. The Boothwyn store will have mobile ordering, curbside pickup, delivery options, and a new Catering Online offer where customers can order Wawa foods for upcoming events at: http://www.wawacatering.com.
