Scott Bower wanted a project car that would highlight some of the products made by his Chester company, Ron Francis Wiring, founded in 1974.

He replaced a turbo engine in his 1984 Ford Mustang SVO with a 5.5 Coyote swap fuel injection harnass, writes Rob Krider for fordmuscle.com.

There were less than 10,000 of this limited production Ford made between 1984 and 1986. Scott got his Ford Mustang roller SVO chassis, with many parts missing, for $600.

Its turbo engine put out between 175 and 200 horsepower.

Scott could do better with the Coyote engine after heavily modifying the original SVO chassis, adding a blower and a TorqStorm billet supercharger.

Now the Mustang’s power output is bumped up to 657 horsepower with 10 pounds of boost.

“I certainly wasn’t the first to crack the endeavor, so some of the bits and pieces I used, I learned from others, but the wiring is all Ron Francis Wiring products,” he says.

The car has performed well, completing the Power Tour in 2018 with no problems.

Scott takes the Mustang to multiple drag racing and autocrossing events every year as an advertisement for the quality of Ron Francis Wiring.
