Delaware County Weekend Daily Cases Averaged 36 Between Friday and Monday

No  new COVID-19-related deaths were reported Monday, June 7, according to the Chester County Health Department.

The health department is reporting a total of 1,449 COVID-19-related deaths in Delaware County.

Of those, 838 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 48 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

New cases

The Chester County Department of Health site reported 109 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County between Friday, June 4 and Monday, June 7.  Total cases are 49,772.

Prospect Park continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 753, affecting 11.59 percent of its 6,492 population.

Upper Darby has the most total cases, with 7,409 cases reported, or 8.93 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

Negative tests

The county has had 249,779 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 95.54 percent recovery rate.

  • 10 to 19: 6,037 cases
  • 20 to 29: 8,411 cases
  • 30 to 39: 7,408 cases
  • 40 to 49: 6.711 cases

  • 60 to 69: 5,720 cases
  • 70 to 79: 2,802 cases
  • 80 and over: 2,674 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, June 7, there were 297 new cases of COVID-19 statewide. Total cases now number 1,205,989.

The state is reporting 6 COVID-19 deaths for Monday, June 7. Total deaths are 27,360.
