Fans of local music, art, and culture can celebrate the arts with virtual and in-person events Saturday, May 8, at the Delco Arts Spring Fling.

The Delaware County Arts Consortium teamed up with arts organizations county-wide to demonstrate how much culture there is right here at home.

The Spring Fling gives everyone a sample of what they can expect at this year’s Delco Arts Week, scheduled Oct. 2 to 9.

“The idea was to help our organizations and communities know that the arts are alive and well in DELCO,” says Delco Arts Week organizer Jennifer Hoff.

Over 30 separate events are listed, demonstrating the wealth and variety of the arts here in our local communities.

Visitors can see a virtual exhibit at the Art Gallery at Delaware County Community College. They can catch an online performance of the Delaware County Symphony.

Or enjoy an online performance of The Blind Man by the Media Chamber Chorale. The performance features soloist John Alston, executive and artistic director of the Chester Children’s Chorus.

The Foundation for Delaware County is a sponsor of Delco Arts Week for the third year.

“We think the Arts are crucially important and we really want to promote all the arts organizations around the county,” said Katy Lichtenstein for The Foundation for Delaware County. “We’re grateful for the opportunity to support them.”
