Twenty-five Dunwoody Village residents made sure local teachers were flowered with appreciation.

They produced 120 unique and colorful silk flower arrangements in partnership with Teachers’ Teammates.

The arrangements were created by members of Dunwoody’s floral committee. They were distributed to 41 Delaware County schools for Teacher Appreciation Week.

The floral committee, led by Dunwoody resident Fran Northrup, began the project in February.

Joann Fabrics donated silk flowers and other floral arranging supplies to Raelyn Harman, founder of Teachers’ Teammates.

Raelyn contacted Fran, who rallied her committee to put their creativity to task.

The mission of the nonprofit Teachers’ Teammates is to make sure Delaware County K-12 teachers and students thrive in education. The organization brings together resources and supplies available for teachers to use in their classrooms.

Residents at Dunwoody Village have embraced that mission, not only through the floral arrangements for teachers but also by donating supplies.

Throughout the past year, the floral committee has spearheaded projects that have benefited fellow residents, Dunwoody staff, and the greater community.
