No new COVID-19-related deaths in Delaware County have been reported Thursday, May 27, according to the Chester County Health Department.

The health department is reporting a total of 1,445 COVID-19-related deaths in Delaware County.

Of those, 838 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 48 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

New cases

The Chester County Department of Health site reported 99 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County for Thursday, May 27. Total cases are 48,891.

Prospect Park continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 742, affecting 11.42 percent of its 6,492 population.

Upper Darby has the most total cases, with 7,266 cases reported, or 8.76 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

Negative tests

The county has had 246,250 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 94.12 percent recovery rate.
