Delaware County is offering the first of six mass vaccination clinics starting this weekend at Delaware County Community College, writes Kathleen E. Carey for the Daily Times.

More mass vaccinations will be scheduled at the college in the next seven weeks.  The county’s goal is to vaccinate 140,000 residents in that time.

“Delaware County will be operating a large drive-through clinic at Delaware County Community College every weekend for the next six weeks by appointment only,” said Rosemarie Halt, director of Delaware County’s COVID Task Force.

Those interested must pre-register on the county website at delcopa.gov.

As of April 7, Delaware County has administered more than 50,000 doses of vaccine.

Private providers such CVS, Rite Aid and private health systems are also administering doses.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reports 84,861 county residents have received their first dose and 87,136 have been fully vaccinated.

This week, Delaware County received 21,000 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, 7,000 doses of Moderna, and 2,340 doses of Pfizer.

Vaccinations are administered by appointment only through the county website  or by calling the COVID-19 Call Center at 484-276-2100.

The center also accepts emails at covid19resources@co.delaware.pa.us.
