Malvern Bank Appoints Betty Silfa to Position of Senior Vice President, Pennsylvania Senior Commercial Lender

Malvern Bank, National Association has appointed Betty Silfa to the position of Senior Vice President, Pennsylvania Senior Commercial Lender.

In this role, Silfa will be responsible for meeting the commercial lending needs of Malvern Bank’s business customers by soliciting new business from present and prospective customers and maintaining ongoing business relationships with present customers. The bank’s Private Client Officer and lenders along the Main Line will now report to Silfa.

“Betty’s client background, as well as her professional experience in Chester County and along the Main Line, strengthen our team and our vision for building Malvern Bank’s business in southeastern Pennsylvania,” said CEO Anthony C. Weagley. “I’m happy to announce that she has joined the Malvern team.”

Silfa has more than 20 years of commercial lending experience. Prior to joining Malvern Bank, she was Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer for Mid Penn Bank. She also previously served as Vice President and Sales Manager at Bryn Mawr Trust and Senior Vice President Relationship Manager at Citibank.

Earlier this year, Silfa was appointed by Gov. Tom Wolf to a six-year term as a member of the West Chester University Council of Trustees. Council of Trustees members assist with advancing WCU’s reputation and representing the university throughout the state and nation.

An active member of the community, Silfa has worked closely with the Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry, Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, Main Line Chamber of Commerce, West Chester Chamber of Commerce, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Chilean Chamber of Commerce, Latino Professional Group of West Chester, the World Trade Center in Delaware, and Rethink Innovations. She also has been an active board member of Chester County Futures and has lent her expertise as an instructor at the American Institute of Banking.

Silfa earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and human resource management from Pace University in New York. She also holds a certification in human resource management from Villanova.
