A Lower Number of New COVID-19 Cases for Delaware County Reported for Tuesday, at 116

No new COVID-19-related deaths were reported for Tuesday, April 27, according to the Chester County Health Department.

As of Tuesday, April 27, the health department was reporting a total of 1,375 COVID-19-related deaths in Delaware County.

Of those, 826 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 46 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

The health department also reported 116 new positive cases of COVID-19 for between Tuesday, April 27.

Prospect Park continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 729, affecting 11.23 percent of its 6,492 population.

Upper Darby has the most total cases, with 6,865 cases reported, or 8.27 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 965 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 232,450 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 87.1 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Tuesday, April 27, are:

  • Under 10: 2,233 cases
  • 10 to 19: 5,486 cases
  • 20 to 29: 7,762 cases
  • 30 to 39: 6,833 cases
  • 40 to 49: 6.258 cases
  • 50 to 59: 7,062 cases
  • 60 to 69: 5,402 cases
  • 70 to 79: 2,696 cases
  • 80 and over: 2,623 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, April 27, there were 3,333  new cases of COVID-19 statewide. Total cases now number 1,139,390

The state is reporting 84 COVID-19 deaths for Tuesday, April 27. total COVID-19 deaths are at 26,072.
