5 COVID-19 Deaths Reported in Delaware County, With 290 New Cases Over Two Days

Five COVID-19-related deaths were reported in Delaware County for Wednesday, April 7, according to the Chester County Health Department.

As of Wednesday, the health department was reporting a total of 1,351 COVID-19-related deaths in Delaware County.

Of those, 823 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes, according to the latest statistics from the Chester County Health Department.

There were three deaths from Ridley Township, one from Upper Darby and one from Nether Providence.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 46 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

The health department also reported there have been 290 new positive cases of COVID-19 between Monday, April 5 and Wednesday, April 7. Total cases as of April 7 is 42,928.

The health department was reporting a 89.56 percent recovery rate as of April 7.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, April 7, there were 4,643 new cases of COVID-19 statewide. Total cases now number 1,054,298.

The state is reporting 48 additional COVID-19 deaths for Wednesday, April 7. The statewide death toll is now 25,285.
