New COVID-19 Cases Slightly Above 100 for Wednesday, March 10, in Delaware County

There were no new COVID-19-related deaths reported Wednesday, March 10 in Delaware County.

The Chester County Health Department is reporting a total of 1,294 fatalities.

Of those, 801 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes, according to the latest statistics from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 46 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

There were 113 new COVID-19 cases in Delaware County reported Wednesday, March 10. Total cases are now 39,113.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 1,104, or 9.60 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases, with 5,875 cases reported, or 7.08 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 848 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 209,489 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 90.92 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Wednesday, March 10, are:

  • Under 10: 1,565 cases
  • 10 to 19: 4.130 cases
  • 20 to 29: 6,551 cases  
  • 30 to 39: 5,708 cases  
  • 40 to 49: 5,326 cases
  • 50 to 59: 6,096 cases
  • 60 to 69: 4,773 cases
  • 70 to 79: 2,463 cases
  • 80 and over: 2,497 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, March 10, that there were 2,594 new cases of COVID-19 statewide.  Total cases now number.955,730.

There were 43 additional COVID-19 deaths reported March 9, for a new total of 24,439.
