Most Recent Week in March Shows COVID-19 Cases Went Up for Delaware County After Trending Down

No COVID-19 county or municipal statistics, including the number of new cases and COVID-19 deaths, were available over the weekend from the Chester County Health Department or the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

The health department has released a summary of the past month’s COVID-19 case activity in Delaware County with this past week the most current. The chart indicates an increase in new positive COVID-19 cases in Delaware County this past week over previous weeks in March.

The health department also released its most recent information regarding COVID-19 testing in Delaware County. Week 1 indicates this past week, the most recent week of collected data for March.

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, March 28, that there were 7,178 additional cases of COVID-19 statewide between Friday, March 26, and Sunday, March 28. The total number of cases stands at 1,012,345.

There were 48 additional COVID-19 deaths reported statewide between Friday, March 26, and Sunday, March 28. Total deaths statewide are 25,001.
