Pa. Gov. Tom Wolf announced March 12 plans to have Phase 1A COVID-19 vaccination appointments in place in all counties by the end of March before moving on to Phase 1B.

Phase 1A focuses on nursing home residents, health care personnel , those 65 and older, and those under 65 with high-risk health conditions.

The governor also announced mass vaccination clinics and vaccinating frontline workers.

Getting Phase 1A completed before moving to Phase 1B is a primary goal of county, state, and federal elected officials representing Delaware County, Montgomery, Chester and Bucks counties.

They worry the state is ignoring claims that the four counties are receiving less vaccine than what is needed compared to other counties in the state.

 “We are glad the Governor heard our call for more vaccines for all residents, including those in Delaware County,” said Delaware County Councilman Kevin Madden.

Madden suggested multiple mass vaccination sites to reach older and lower-income residents who would have difficulty traveling to just one site.
