COVID-19 Percentages Lower for Delaware County Zipcodes Overall, With Some Exceptions

The percentage levels of new cases in Delaware County Zipcodes were lower on average for the week prior to March 10, compared to the previous week.

Percentage increases were mostly in the 2% range.

An exception was Zipcodes on or near the Main Line. Zipcode 19087 (Chesterbrook, St. Davids, Strafford, Radnor, Wayne) saw a 6% increase.  There were 69 new cases reported in that Zipcode with a total of 1,278 cases, write Sean Adams and Megan Lavey-Heaton for the Harrisburg Patriot-News.

Also ranking higher was 19319 (Cheyney) and 19029 (Lester, Essington)which both saw a 5% increase. Zipcode 19319 reported 1 new case, for a total of 22; while Zipcode 19029 saw 14 cases for a total of 284.

The Zipcodes with the lowest percentage increase in new cases were 19010, 19013, 19032, 19043, 19050, 19064, 19076, 19079, 19081 19086, 19317.

A statistically 0% increase was reported in Zipcode 19043 (Holmes). It had 1 new case for a total of 212.

The remaining lowest increasing Zipcodes had a 1% increase. They are:  19010 (Bryn Mawr), 10 new cases,   991 total;  19013 (Chester Township), 22 new, 2,397 total; 19032 (Folcroft), 7 new, 509 total; 19050 (East Lansdowne, Lansdowne, Yeadon), 30 new, 2,183 total; 19064 (Springfield), 21 new, 1,734 total; 19076 (Prospect Park), 5 new, 588 total; 19079 (Sharon Hill), 6 new, 678 total; 19081 (Swarthmore), 3 new, 455 total; 19086 (Wallingford, Rose Valley), 8 new, 765 total; and 19317 (Chadds Ford), 5 new, 411 total.

These latest numbers are compiled by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
