No New COVID-19 Deaths Reported, Total Cases Now at 34,961 for Delaware County

No additional COVID-19 deaths were reported for Monday, Feb. 1, in Delaware County, according to the Chester County Health Department.

The Delaware County COVID-19 death toll stands at 1,190.

Of total deaths reported, 770 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 45 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

The health department reported a total of 34,961 positive cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 1,028, or 8.94 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases, with 5,283 cases reported, or 6.37 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 781 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 194,871 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 83.56 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Monday, Feb. 2 are:

  • Under 10: 1,315 cases
  • 10 to 19: 3,455 cases
  • 20 to 29: 5,940 cases  
  • 30 to 39: 5,150 cases  
  • 40 to 49: 4,761 cases
  • 50 to 59: 5,460 cases
  • 60 to 69: 4,339 cases
  • 70 to 79: 2,220 cases
  • 80 and over: 2,318 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Feb. 1 that there were 2,852  additional cases of COVID-19 reported, for a new total of 846,078.

 There were 225 additional deaths for a new total of.21,687.
