New COVID-19 Cases Trending Below 150 Daily in Delaware County, 4 More Deaths Friday

Four additional COVID-19 deaths have been reported as of Friday, Feb. 12 in Delaware County.

The COVID-19 death toll in Delaware County stands at 1,236 as of Friday.

One death was reported in Yeadon, 1 in Darby Borough, 1 in Bethel and 1 in Edgmont.

Of total deaths reported, 788 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes, according to the latest statistics from the Chester County Health Department.

One death was reported in Nether Providence and 1 was reported in Brookhaven.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 46 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

The health department reported 128 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County as of Friday, Feb. 12, with total cases now at 36,318.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 1,052, or 9.15 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases, with 5,448 cases reported, or 6.56 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 805 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 199,028 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 87.14 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Friday, Feb. 12, are:

  • Under 10: 1,390 cases
  • 10 to 19: 3,656 cases
  • 20 to 29: 6,149 cases  
  • 30 to 39: 5,319 cases  
  • 40 to 49: 4,932 cases
  • 50 to 59: 5,692 cases
  • 60 to 69: 4,501 cases
  • 70 to 79: 2,299 cases
  • 80 and over: 2,377 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Feb. 12 that there were 3,987 new  COVID-19 cases reported statewide. Total cases are now at  888,256.

 There were 99 additional deaths reported Feb. 12, for a new total of 22,959.
