COVID Case Loads Up by 348 for Sunday in Delaware County, State Reports

No COVID-19 county or municipal statistics, including the number of new cases and COVID-19 deaths, were available from the Chester County Health Department for Monday, Jan. 18, because of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Pennsylvania Department of Health reported that as of 10 p.m., Sunday, Jan 17, there were 34,536 total cases of COVID-19 reported for Delaware County.

That is an increase of 348 cases over what was reported the day before, on Saturday, Jan. 16, when 34,188 cases were reported.

On Friday, Jan. 15, the Chester County Health Department reported a total of 1,053 COVID-19-related deaths.

Of those, 693 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Jan. 18, that there were now 771,845 reported cases of COVID-19 statewide, an increase of 4,045  since Sunday, Jan. 17.

There were 19,390 reported deaths, up 80 since Sunday, Jan 17.
