See Who Received Highest PPP Loans in Delaware County

By

Earlier this week, the U.S. Small Business Administration released detailed information on approved borrowers from the federal government’s Paycheck Protection Program, including those in Delaware County, writes Matthew Kish for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

In Delaware County, the highest amounts went to Xanitos and Premier Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine, both in Newtown Square.

Both companies were approved for PPP loans of $10,000,000. Xanitos retained 500 jobs with its loan, while Premier Orthopaedic kept 438.

Cohen and Sons in Broomall received a PPP loan of $7,552,802 and retained 52 jobs.

Meanwhile, The Arthur Jackson Company in Upper Darby was approved for $6,857,100.

Finally, Archway Charter School of Chester received $5,286,140 and retained 479 jobs.

The SBA was ordered by U.S. District Judge James Boasberg to release the “names, addresses, and precise loan amounts of all individuals and entities that obtained COVID-related loans pursuant to the Paycheck Protection Program and Economic Injury Disaster Loans program.”

This follows a lawsuit filed in May by several news organizations.

Prior to the ruling, the SBA had refused to release the information when asked to do so under the Freedom of Information Act, citing privacy concerns.
