Delaware County New Positive COVID-19 Case Loads Reported Drops to 114 for Monday

The number of new positive COVID cases reported Monday in Delaware County dropped to 114, according to the Chester County Health Department.

On Sunday, the Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 24,126 total cases in Delaware County. On Monday, Dec. 14, total number of positive cases was 24,240.

No additional COVID deaths have been reported in the county since Friday, with total fatalities at 895.

Of those, 649 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes, according to the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 43 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 846, or 7.37 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases, with 3,795 cases reported, or 4.57 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 526 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 167,292 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 68.29 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Monday, Dec. 14 are:

  • Under 10: 757 cases
  • 10 to 19: 2,330 cases
  • 20 to 29: 4,338 cases  
  • 30 to 39: 3,575 cases  
  • 40 to 49: 3,334 cases
  • 50 to 59: 3,761 cases
  • 60 to 69: 2,914 cases
  • 70 to 79: 1,531 cases
  • 80 and over: 1,698

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Dec. 14, that there were 7,962 new cases of COVID-19 statewide, with the total number of cases now at 499,764.

There were 55 new COVID-19 deaths reported statewide, with total deaths for Monday, Dec. 14, reported at 12,620.
