Total Cases in Delaware County Now at 15,316 With One Death Reported From Yeadon on Tuesday

There have been 244 new positive cases of COVID-19 reported in Delaware County from Friday, Nov. 6 to Monday, Nov. 9, with six new positive cases reported Monday, according to the Chester County Health Department.

Total cases in the county now number 15,316, according to statistics released Nov. 10.

One resident from Yeadon lost their life to complications of COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths to 825.

Of those, 629 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 626, or 5.46 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases, with 2,353 cases reported, or 2.84 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 350 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 140,611 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 75.03 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Tuesday, Nov. 10 are:

  • Under 10: 347 cases
  • 10 to 19: 1,329 cases
  • 20 to 29: 2,819 cases
  • 30 to 39: 2,184 cases
  • 40 to 49: 2,049 cases
  • 50 to 59: 2,367 cases
  • 60 to 69: 1,802 cases
  • 70 to 79: 1,041 cases
  • 80 and over: 1,377

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Nov. 10, that there were 4,361 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since Monday, bringing the statewide total to 238,657.

There were 66 new deaths reported statewide for
Tuesday, Nov. 10, with total deaths listed at 9,020.
