New COVID-19 Cases Continue to Mount in Delaware County, With 515 New Cases Reported Over 2 Days

There were 515 new COVID-19 cases reported Monday in Delaware County since new cases were last reported Saturday, according to the Chester County Health Department.

On Saturday, a total of 14,648 cases were reported. On Monday, that figured jumped to 15,163.

One resident from Middletown lost their life to complications of COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths in Delaware County to 824.

Of those, 629 were  in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 620, or 5.4 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases, with 2,329 cases reported, or 2.69 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 345 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 139, 916 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 75.56 percent recovery rate.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Nov. 9, that there were 3,402 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 234,296.

There were 4 new deaths reported statewide for
Monday, Nov. 9, with total deaths listed at 9,020.
