Delaware County 2-Day Average COVID Case Load Dropped Below 100, Middletown Resident Loses Life

New cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County averaged out to about 90 cases each for Sunday and Monday, with 181 total new cases reported over the two days.

There are now 14,069 cases of COVID-19 that have been reported in Delaware County, according to the Chester County Health Department.

One resident from Middletown lost their life from complications of COVID-19, with county totals now at 815.

Of those deaths, 621 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 593, or 5.17 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, with 2,142 cases reported, or 2.58 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 329 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 133, 575 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 78.75 percent recovery rate.

  • 20 to 29: 2,580 cases (up 54)
  • 30 to 39: 1,980 cases (up 64)

  • 60 to 69: 1,673 cases (up 32)
  • 70 to 79: 971cases (up 8)
  • 80 and over: 1,344 cases (up 9)

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Nov. 2, that there were 2,060 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 211,996.

There were 6 new deaths reported statewide for
Monday, Nov. 2, with total deaths listed at 8,823.
