28 COVID-19 Cases Reported in Delaware County Since Monday, June 22, With Total Cases Listed at 7,097

As of Wednesday, June 24, there were 28 additional cases of COVID-19 reported in Delaware County communities and nine COVID-19-related deaths since Chester County Health Department numbers were last reported Monday, June 22.

The total number of positive cases in the county is 7,097 and the total number of deaths is 693.  Of those, 555 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 424 cases, affecting 3.7 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby continues to have the most cases, at 1,161, affecting 1.4 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 253 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has been assigned.

The county has had 33,241 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 81 percent recovery rate.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of midnight, June 24, that there are 495 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 83,191.

There are 6,515 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 54 new deaths.
