Delaware County Sees 169 New COVID-19 Cases Over 2 Days, Total Hits 13,259

Delaware County’s two-day total of new cases since Saturday was 169, with total cases county-wide now at 13,259, according to the Chester County Health Department.

No additional COVID-19-related deaths were reported since Saturday, with total deaths remaining at 808.

Of those, 619 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus, with nine new cases reported since Friday. Total cases in Yeadon are 571, or 4.98 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, surpassing 2,000, with 54 new cases since Friday. It now has 2,025 cases, affecting 2.44 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 319 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 128, 349 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 80.93 percent recovery rate.

  • Under 10: 272 cases (up 13)
  • 10 to 19: 1,092 cases (up 24)
  • 20 to 29: 2,450 cases (up 43)
  • 30 to 39: 1,827 cases (up 59)
  • 40 to 49: 1,743 cases (up 45)
  • 50 to 59: 2,018 cases (up 38)
  • 60 to 69: 1,588 cases (up 37)
  • 70 to 79: 940 cases (up 17)
  • 80 and over: 1,328 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Oct. 26, that there were 1,407 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since statistics were last reported Saturday, bringing the statewide total to 195,695.

There were 7 new deaths reported statewide as of
Monday, Oct. 26 since these statistics were last reported Saturday, with total deaths listed at 8,673.
