Here’s How Delaware County Is Doing Responding to the 2020 Census

By

Delaware County ranks 19th in Pennsylvania on self-response rates for the 2020 Census, with 70.7 percent of residents already having filled out and submitted their forms, writes Jesse Musto for The Morning Call.

Out of that number, 59.5 percent of respondents have returned their completed forms through the internet.

This switch from traditional methods further highlights the growing trend toward using an electronic format over more traditional methods which should help reduce both the time and costs involved.

With nearly a month left to go, Delaware County has yet to surpass its self-response rate of 73 percent for the 2010 Census.

Delaware County’s Rose Valley has the second-highest response rate in the state at 87.7 percent.

Statewide, counties in southeastern Pennsylvania – with the exception of Philadelphia – have had some of the highest rates.

Meanwhile, the counties in northern and northeastern Pennsylvania mostly have low response rates.

The county with the highest response rate is Bucks at 77.5 percent.

Overall, Pennsylvania ranks 18th nationwide with a self-response rate of 67.8 percent, which is just above the national average of 65 percent.
