There were 99 new cases of COVID-19 reported Tuesday, Sept. 29 for Delaware County since cases were last reported Monday. Total number of cases is now 11,521, according to the Chester County Health Department.

Two additional residents lost their life to COVID-19, one in Middletown and one in  Darby Borough. Total county deaths are now at 795.

Of those, 615 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 546 cases, affecting 4.76 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,778, affecting 2.14 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 295 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 107,157 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 84.18 percent recovery rate.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Sept. 29, that there were 988 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since statistics were last reported Monday, bringing the statewide total to. 157,814.

There were 16 new deaths reported statewide as of
Tuesday, Sept. 29 since these statistics were last reported Monday, with total deaths listed at 8,123.
