81 New Cases of COVID-19 Reported in Delaware County Since Sunday

There were 81 new cases of COVID-19 reported Monday, Sept. 21 for Delaware County since cases were last reported Sunday. Total number of cases is now 11,194, according to the Chester County Health Department.

No new COVID-related deaths were reported in the county, with the total remaining at 787.

Of those, 610 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have now been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 537 cases, affecting 4.68 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,744, affecting 2.1 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The following are the number of reported cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County as of Monday, Sept. 21, listed by municipality in descending order of caseload.

The list includes which communities saw an increase in cases based on previously unassigned cases and new cases since Friday, Sept. 18, the last date these statistics were updated.

There are 295 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 101,404 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 83.84 percent recovery rate.

  • Under 10: 183 cases (up 5)
  • 10 to 19: 832 cases (up 15)
  • 20 to 29: 1,973 cases (up 20)
  • 30 to 39: 1,529 cases (up 13)
  • 40 to 49: 1,448 cases (up 5)
  • 50 to 59: 1,718 cases (up 7)
  • 60 to 69: 1,383 cases (up 11)
  • 70 to 79: 842 cases (up 5)
  • 80 and over: 1,285 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Sept. 21, that there were 234 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since statistics were last reported Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 150,812

There were 70 new deaths reported statewide as of
Monday, Sept. 21, with the total deaths listed at 8.004.
