Office buildings and the businesses that depend on them are seeing their finances affected by the COVID-109 shift to remote work, writes Natalie Kostelni  for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The 555 Lancaster Ave. building in Radnor has lost two tenants, Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine, and a fitness center, Philadelphia Sports Club.

Combined, they occupied 50,000 square feet of the 238,000 square-foot building.

The owner, Brandywine Realty Trust, included Philadelphia Sports Club and Harvest in a $25 million building overhaul as amenities to attract corporate workers.

Now COVID has shifted the workers that would normally use those amenities to their homes. About 90 percent of Harvest customers came from the Radnor Financial Center and nearby Radnor Corporate Center.

Philadelphia Sports Club was also hit hard and forced to close without office workers to use its gym facilities.

.Brandywine is interviewing other tenants to fill the space, believing there will be a renewed interest in health and fitness post-COVID.

“Though health and wellness was already top-of-mind for many, there will be a renewed interest post-Covid, so we are excited for the opportunity to rebuild and rebrand the fitness center…” Brandywine stated in an email.
