34 New Cases of COVID-19 Reported Sept. 22 in Delaware County, and 4 Deaths

There were 34 new cases of COVID-19 reported Tuesday, Sept. 22 for Delaware County since cases were last reported Monday. Total number of cases is now 11,228, according to the Chester County Health Department.

Four Delaware County residents lost their lives to COVID-19 as reported Sept. 22, with total deaths now at 791.

Of those, 614 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 537 cases, affecting 4.68 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,745, affecting 2.1 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The following are the number of reported cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County as of Monday, Sept. 21, listed by municipality in descending order of caseload.

The list includes which communities saw an increase in cases based on previously unassigned cases and new cases since Monday, Sept. 21, the last date these statistics were updated.

There are 296 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 101,788 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 83.77 percent recovery rate.

  • Under 10: 184 cases (up 1)
  • 10 to 19: 843 cases (up 11)
  • 20 to 29: 1,982 cases (up 9)
  • 30 to 39: 1,532 cases (up 3)
  • 40 to 49: 1,451 cases (up 3)
  • 50 to 59: 1,723 cases (up 5)
  • 60 to 69: 1,384 cases (up 1)
  • 70 to 79: 842 cases
  • 80 and over: 1,286 cases (up 1)

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Sept. 22, that there were 834 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since statistics were last reported Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 151,646.

There were 19 new deaths reported statewide as of
Monday, Sept. 21, with the total deaths listed at 8023.
