143 New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Delaware County Since Thursday

COVID-19 statistics for Delaware County were unavailable from the Chester County Health Department for Monday, Sept. 7.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 143 new cases in the county on Monday, Sept. 7 since statistics were last reported here Thursday, for a total of 10, 659 cases.

The Chester County Health Department reported three more COVID-19-related deaths in Yeadon, Chester and Eddystone on Friday, Sept. 4, for a total of 777.

Of those, 604 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have now been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 524 cases, affecting 4.57 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,680, affecting 2.02 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The following are the number of reported cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County as of Friday, Sept. 4, listed by municipality in descending order of caseload.

The list includes which communities saw an increase in cases based on previously unassigned cases and new cases since Thursday, Sept. 3, the last date these statistics were updated.

There are 294 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 90,487 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 80.76 percent recovery rate.

  • 10 to 19: 687 cases (up 14)
  • 20 to 29: 1,812 cases (up 24)
  • 30 to 39: 1,456 cases (up 3)

  • 50 to 59: 1,649 cases (up 6)
  • 60 to 69: 1,330 cases (up 5)
  • 70 to 79: 818 cases (up 3)
  • 80 and over: 1,276 cases (up 1)

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Sept. 7, that there were 4,252 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since statistics were last reported Thursday, bringing the statewide total to 139863.

There were 89 new COVID-19 related deaths reported, with the total now at 7,780.
