There were 46 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Delaware County for Friday, Aug. 28. Total number of cases is now at 10,279

There was one COVID-19-related death reported, with total deaths reported at 773.

Of those, 604 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have now been reported in 39 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 513 cases, affecting 4.47 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,633, affecting 1.97 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The county has had 84,592 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 79.42 percent recovery rate.

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Aug. 28, that there were 835 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since Thursday, Aug. 27, bringing the statewide total to 131,991.

There were 20 new COVID-19 related deaths reported, with the total now at. 7655.
