45 More COVID-19 Cases Reported in Delaware County for

There were 45 additional cases of COVID-19 reported in Delaware County for Thursday, Aug. 6, by the Chester County Health Department, for a total of 9,123 cases.

Two additional COVID-19 deaths were reported, with the total in the county now at 742.

Of those, 588 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have now been reported in 39 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It’s caseload remained the same as Aug. 5, at 480, affecting 4.18 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,476, affecting 1.77 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 271 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 64,508 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 75.46 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups as of Aug. 6 are:

  • Under 10: 6 cases
  • 10 to 19: 445 cases (up 16)
  • 20 to 29: 1,400 cases
  • 30 to 39: 1,300 cases
  • 40 to 49: 1,200 cases
  • 50 to 59: 1,400 cases
  • 60 to 69: 1,200 cases
  • 70 to 79: 755 cases (up 1)
  • 80 and over: 1,200 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Aug. 6, that there were 805 new cases of COVID-19 across the state, bringing the statewide total to 116,511.

There were 38 additional COVID-19 related deaths, bringing the state total to 7,282.
