There were 48 new cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County reported on Wednesday, July 15, bringing the county total to 7,698.

There were eight additional COVID-19 related deaths reported, with total deaths now at 717 for the county.

Of those, 573 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

Yeadon Borough has the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 438 cases, affecting 3.82 percent of its 11,471 population.

There are 282 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has been assigned.

The county has had 15,000 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 82.04 percent recovery rate.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, July 15, that there are 994 additional cases of COVID-19 statewide since July 14, for a new total 97,665.

There were 26 additional deaths reported with the total number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 at 6,957.
