61 New Cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County and 5 COVID-19 Related Deaths Reported

There were 61 additional cases of COVID-19 reported in Delaware County for Wednesday, July 29, by the Chester County Health Department, bringing the total number of cases to 8,596.

Five additional COVID-19 deaths were reported, with the total in the county now at 725.

Of those, 578 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 469 cases, affecting 4.09 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,398, affecting 1.68 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 251 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has been assigned.

The county has had 57,192 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 77.38 percent recovery rate.

  • Under 10: 6 cases
  • 10 to 19: 359 cases
  • 20 to 29: 1,300 cases
  • 30 to 39: 1,200 cases
  • 40 to 49: 1,200 cases
  • 50 to 59: 1,400 cases
  • 60 to 69: 1,200 cases
  • 70 to 79: 736 cases
  • 80 and over: 1,200 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, July 29, that there 834 new cases of COVID-19 across the state, bringing the statewide total to 110,218.

There were 16 additional COVID-19 related deaths, bringing the state total to 7,162.
