27 New COVID-19 Cases Reported for Wednesday, July 1, in Delaware County, for a Total of 7,275

As of Wednesday, July 1, there were 27 additional cases of COVID-19 reported in Delaware County.

There were five COVID-19 related deaths reported.

That brings the total number of positive cases in the county to 7,275 with the number of COVID-19 related deaths at 701.

Of those, 562 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

Yeadon Borough has the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 427 cases, affecting 3.72 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby continues to have the most cases, at 1,194, affecting 1.44 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 266 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has been assigned.

The county has had 37,224 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 82.63 percent recovery rate.

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of midnight, July 1, that there are 636 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 87,242.

There were no additional deaths reported with the total number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 at 6,649.
