As of Thursday, July 9, there have been 21 additional COVID-19 cases reported in Delaware County since Wednesday, July 8.

No additional deaths were reported.

That brings the total number of positive cases in the county to 7,496, with the number of COVID-19 related deaths remaining at 706.

Of those, 564 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

Yeadon Borough has the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 435 cases, affecting 3.79 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,227, affecting 1.48 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 269 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has been assigned.

The county has had 41,656 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 82.84 percent recovery rate.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, July 9, that there are 719 additional positive cases of COVID-19 since Wednesday, July 8, bringing the statewide total to 92,867.

There were 36 additional deaths reported with the total number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 at 6,848.
