By

Two contact-less food drives are scheduled at two different locations Saturday, June 13, 9 a.m. to noon, at the United Steelworkers Hall, 26 W. Winona Ave. in Norwood; and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. , at the Radnor Police Department, 301 Iven Ave. in Wayne.

People are asked to drive through the parking lot with the donated food and volunteers will take the items from vehicle trunks to trucks for delivery to Delaware County food pantries.

Items needed include dry food goods, peanut butter, canned meats and tuna, stews, soups, cereal and items that cannot be purchased with SNAP benefits—paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, laundry detergent, toothpaste, deodorant, bar soap for bathing, baby diapers, baby wipes, formula, hand sanitizer and cleaning wipes.

The drives are being organized by the Delaware County Department of Human Services, in conjunction with Delaware County Council, Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon, State Sens. Anthony Williams and Tim Kearney, State Reps. Greg Vitali, Jennifer O’Mara, David Delloso, Leanne Krueger, the Radnor Police Department and the Delaware County AFL-CIO.
