There were no new deaths reported from complications of COVID-19 in Delaware County for Monday, June 1 and only 19 new confirmed cases.

That brings the county total number of COVID-19 cases to 6,529, with fatalities remaining at 545, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 391 cases, affecting 3.41 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby continues to have the most cases, at 1,025, affecting 1.24 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of midnight, May 31, that there are 356 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 72,282.

There are 5,567 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 12 new deaths.

The southeast region of the state, which includes Delaware, Philadelphia, Montgomery, Bucks and Chester Counties, has the highest number of positive confirmed cases in the state, at 46,766.  The next highest number of cases in the state is in the northeast, reporting 13,131 cases.
