Numbers Stay Low in Delaware County in New COVID-19 Cases, Only 16 for Thursday, June 18

Delaware County continues to have a low number of new COVID-19 cases and fatalities.  For Thursday, June 18, the Chester County Health Department reported 16 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and two deaths.

That brings the total number of cases in the county to 7,037 and the total number of COVID-19 related deaths remaining at 680. Of those, 542 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 417 cases, affecting 3.64 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby continues to have the most cases, at 1,143, affecting 1.38 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 250 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has been assigned.

The county has had 29,532 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 77 percent recovery rate.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of midnight, June 18, that there are 418 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 80,236.

There are 6,361 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 42 new deaths.
