New Delaware County COVID-19 Cases Remain Low, at 13 for Tuesday, for a Total of 6,991

Delaware County continues on a downward path toward containing the spread of COVID-19.  There were only 13 new confirmed cases reported for Tuesday, June 16, and three deaths, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

That brings the total number of cases in the county to 6,991 and the total number of COVID-19 related deaths remaining at 674. Of those, 538 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes,

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 413 cases, affecting 3.6 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby continues to have the most cases, at 1,122, affecting 1.35 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 270 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has been assigned.

The county has had 28,450 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 77 percent recovery rate.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of midnight, June 16, that there are 362 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 79,483.

There are 6,276 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 33 new deaths.
