Monday Saw 13 New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Delaware county, No Additional Fatalities

As of Monday, June 22, there were 13 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported and no COVID-19-related deaths.

That brings the total number of cases in the county to 7,097 and the total number of COVID-19 related deaths remains at 684. Of those, 545 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 421 cases, affecting 3.67 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby continues to have the most cases, at 1,156, affecting 1.39 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 251 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has been assigned.

The county has had 32,087 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 81 percent recovery rate.

A breakdown of cases in the county by age shows:

Age 50 to 59:  1,200 cases

Age 80 and over: 1,100 cases

Age 60 to 69: 1,000 cases

Age 40 to 49: 975 cases

Age 30 to 39: 969 cases

Age 20 to 29: 872 cases

Age 70 to 79: 679 cases

Age 10 to 19: 175 cases

Under age 10: 6 cases

The health department is reporting that 57.01 percent of those infected in the county are female, 42.95 percent male,.04 percent unknown.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of midnight, June 22 that there are 456 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 82,186.

There are 6,426 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 3 new deaths.
