35 New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Delaware County, 1 Death

Thirty five new cases of COVID-19 were reported for Delaware County on Tuesday, June 9, and one new death was reported, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

That brings the total number of cases in the county to 6,789 and the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 652.

The county now has 59.4 new confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 over 14 days per 100,000 people. The target case number is 50 as part of the criteria to move to a green phase of reopening.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 406 cases, affecting 3.54 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby continues to have the most cases, at 1,067, affecting 1.29 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 295 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has been assigned.

The county has had 25,565 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 72 percent recovery rate.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of midnight, June 9, that there are 493 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 76,436.

There are 6,014 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 61 new deaths.
