Upper Darby High School Lastest Site for COVID-19 Testing

Seven Delaware County school districts, including Upper Darby School District, are among the fifty across the state that will receive extra money from the state to lower the tax burden for local residents.

Upper Darby High School’s parking lot became a COVID-19 test site Thursday and will be open again today.

The site will be open Friday, May 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The high school is located at 610 No. Lansdowne Ave. in Drexel Hill.

Residents over age 18 with COVID-19 symptoms and/or known exposure will be eligible to be tested.

Testing priority will especially go to those at higher risk, including residents over 65, those with pre-existing health conditions, as well as critical and essential workers (first responders, healthcare system employees, grocery store works, pharmacy staff and other essential workers).

Testing is being conducted by trained medical staff using a nasal swab (PCR).

Pre-authorization and registration are not required and testing is free of charge for residents.

Those with private or public health insurance will be asked to provide their insurance card.

Residents are asked to wear a mask/face covering. Upon arrival, patients will need to complete a registration form and a consent form.

Test results will take up to 5-7 business days. Residents will be contacted based on the contact information provided on the registration.

Additional COVID-19 public testing sites in Delaware County are being added and will be announced.
