U.S. News: Four Delaware County High Schools Among Top 50 in Pennsylvania

Four Delaware County high schools have found their place in the 50 best Pennsylvania high schools, according to a new ranking published by U.S. News & World Report.

Among Delaware County schools, Radnor High School ranked highest in third place with a 98 percent graduation rate and college readiness of 67.7. Overall the school came in at 211 nationwide.

Strath Haven High School in Wallingford also ranked in the top 10 in ninth place with a 96 percent graduation rate and 61.6 for college readiness.

Next is Haverford High School at No. 31 with a 96 percent graduation rate and 36.0 for college readiness.

The Delaware County schools are rounded out by Penncrest High School in Media at No. 47.

U.S. News reviewed more than 24,000 high schools nationwide to create its annual list. The metrics used to determine the ranking include graduation rates, college readiness, math and reading proficiency, and under-served student performance.

“The Best High Schools rankings provide the most comprehensive, data-based information on nearly every public high school in the country,” said Anita Narayan, U.S. News managing editor of education.
